Seychelles-based crypto exchange Huobi plans to delist seven privacy-centric cryptocurrencies, including Monero and Zcash.
Digital asset manager Grayscale Investments has been fielding questions from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over the firm's "securities law analysis" of tokens in some of its less-popular crypto trusts. For the first time, Grayscale acknowledged that ZEC, ZEN and XLM “may currently be a security, based on the facts as they exist today.
The privacy coins monero and zcash managed to see fewer percentage losses against the U.S. dollar this week, in contrast to crypto assets like bitcoin, ethereum, and solana. Seven-day statistics indicate zcash has lost 5.6% against the USD, while monero dropped by 6.1%.
ZEC, ZEN and XLM “may currently be a security, based on the facts as they exist today,” Grayscale said in recent, little-noticed filings.
Since the end of April, the top privacy crypto assets by market capitalization went from a combined value of $10.7 billion to today's valuation of around $5.09 billion.
